cinque terre

cinque terre (or, “five lands”) is a cluster of small villages on italy’s rocky coastline.  we stayed in riomaggiore, where (like the other villages i’m sure) everything was uphill, and the focaccia/pesto/olives/tomatoes/mozzarella/gnocchi/every other typical italian food was unbelievably good.  (i think i made up for all that goodness by climbing approx. one million stairs each day.)

bright blue water, sun showers, lemon trees, green shutters, angry locals, lovers on the rocks and cheap beer. (i think you should go someday.)
